Use Setu with Claude
You don't need to write code. Create an account, connect the apps you use, and paste one URL into Claude. It takes about two minutes.
1. Create an account and connect apps#
- Open the Setu app (
/app/on your Setu server, for examplehttps://api.setuagent.com/app/) and create an account. Click the confirmation link in the email we send you. - On Apps, click Connect next to GitHub, Slack, Notion or any other app. You sign in on the app's own screen and approve what Setu may do. Setu never sees your password for those apps.
- Connect more than one account per app (for example a work and a personal GitHub) with Add another account. Connecting the same account again replaces the old connection.
- You can disconnect any account at any time from the same page.
2. Copy your Setu URL#
Open Connect Claude. Your personal URL is shown there, hidden until you click Show. Click Add to Claude. It copies the URL and opens Claude's Connectors page (or click Copy and paste it yourself).
The URL is a secret. Anyone who has it can use the apps you connected. If it leaks, click Reset URL: the old one stops working immediately.
3. Add it to Claude#
Claude (web and desktop)#
- Open Settings and go to Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Setu, paste your URL and click Add.
- In a chat, turn the Setu connector on from the tools menu.
Custom connectors are only offered on some Claude plans. If you don't see the option, check your plan in Claude's settings.
Claude Code#
claude mcp add --transport http setu "<your Setu URL>"Cursor#
Add this to your MCP settings (mcp.json):
{ "mcpServers": { "setu": { "url": "<your Setu URL>" } } }Other MCP clients#
Any client that supports remote MCP over HTTP can use the URL as its server address.
4. Try it#
Ask Claude something that needs one of your apps:
- "What changed in my GitHub repos since Friday?"
- "Post a summary of today's work in #general on Slack."
- "Find my notes about the launch plan in Notion."
If Claude tries an app you haven't connected yet, Setu returns a link for you to connect it. With several accounts for one app, Claude asks which one to use and passes its label (for example your GitHub username). You can also say it up front: "use my work-bot GitHub account".
Using your own code instead#
The API keys page creates keys for the REST API and the SDKs. Apps you connected in the
dashboard are available under your user id, which that page shows. Pass it as user_id.
Your account#
- New accounts confirm their email before connecting apps. "Forgot your password?" sends a reset link that works once and expires in an hour.
- Deleting your account in Settings erases your connected-app tokens, API keys and Claude URL.
